Eric lands outside the Tru Blood factory with Sookie safely in his arms after Sookie tells Eric, “Put me down.” And she wants to know why Eric and Bill think they can do what they want with her.
Eric points out that they are alone now, and he knows what she really wants him to do with her because she’d held onto him very tightly when they were flying.
Sookie says she was ‘trying not to puke’ and seriously hopes that Eric didn’t bring her out here to make a move on her. She wants to know what they are doing at the Tru Blood bottling plant.
“Playing detective,” Eric explains. In a thousand years of , if there’s one thing he knows it’s that there is no such thing as a cold trail and if the VLF poisoned the Tru Blood at the plant, he will find them.
Sookie sees two workers outside the plant through a fence.
Eric says, “Allow me.”
Sookie tells Eric, “No killing.”
Eric grabs Sookie like a sack of feed, and they fly over the fence. He pounces on the two plant workers and feeds on them. Sookie is not pleased because the plant workers are the victims of the VLF too.
Sookie says, “Eric,” and he responds, “Yes, dear?” Eric points out to Sookie that he had only promised not to kill the workers, and besides, flying takes a lot out of him.
Sookie then leads Eric inside the bottling plant. They find a locker room and borrow some plant uniforms so they can blend in and Sookie can listen in to the real workers.
Bingo. Sookie hits pay dirt. She orders a worker to come with them. Eric cracks that this wasn’t the threesome he was imagining. Sookie learns that the plant worker had been paid by the fired researcher, Dr. Yoshiro, to poison the Tru Blood. Eric glamours him to turn himself in to the police.
Back in the woods, Sam dresses; Hoyt holds his head in his hands; and Jason removes his shirt to give to the half dead guy Jessica attacked. Bill informs the gang that Jessica is MIA again and he needs to stop her before it gets any worse.
Jason responds, “Worse? Tell that to this guy.” He can’t handle another dead guy on his conscience and wonders what to do.
Bill rolls up his sleeve and says, “Step aside.”
Jessica’s victim recovers after drinking Bill’s blood. He wonders why he is naked and why he is strangely attracted to Bill.
Jason and Sam are relieved to see the headlights of what must be the ambulance they had called but discover it is Lala and Pam. Pam greets Bill and he informs her that she is not needed.
Pam sees Jessica’s now recovered victim, still naked and sitting on the hood of the truck. She wonders if he would make a good hood ornament for her hybrid.
Bill wants to know, “What Eric has done with Sookie?”
Pam replies, “Oh, please, play a different track. That song is old. I’m sure they are getting along just fine without us. Now I’m here, he’s near (referring to Lala) and we’re ready to help. What happened to your redheaded sidekick?”
Bill explains that Jessica, poisoned by the tainted Tru Blood, is very dangerous and has just left them minutes ago claiming that it wasn’t them that she was looking for.
Hoyt realizes that Jessica must be going to her prom after all, and they need to get to Bon Temps High.
At the high school, from behind a tree, Jessica watches the arrival of the students to the prom. She’s gonna have some fun…
Sookie and Eric arrive at Dr. Whitney Harris-Yoshiro’s house. Her vampire lover Esteban answers the door. He used to dance at Fangtasia but is looking to start a new career as a pilates instructor.
After introductions, the doc informs the sheriff that she doesn’t know where her ex-husband David is.
That doesn’t satisfy Eric who tells Esteban to tell his human to invite him in.
The party moves to the kitchen where Whitney explains that her ex became erratic when his contract with Tru Blood was terminated. David had wanted to get back at the company and after he found out Whitney was seeing Esteban, “Well…let’s just say that David’s real feelings about vampires came out.”
Sookie pleads with Whitney to help save Jessica, but she says she hasn’t a clue how to get in contact with David and that he didn’t even clean out his basement lab before leaving.
That peaks Eric’s interest, and he demands to be taken there.
Turns out, David was working on inventing new blood types, but, he failed and was fired as a result. Eric finds a “control” sample of David’s blood in the fridge and get to know David. After having a taste, he declares, “I know where he is.”
Jessica crashes the Prom after the king and queen have been crowned.
FLASHBACK to the night that Jessica snuck out to go to a party to see Justin Brown. Justin wants to do more than talk. He leads Jess to a room and tries to get past first base to heaven where there is ’no talking…” Jessica flees as Justin calls out, ”You bitch! You stupid, tease, homeschooled bitch!”
Jessica recognizes the prom king. It’s none other than Justin Brown. Right after he arranges to go all the way with the prom queen, Jessica cuts in on their dance…
To be continued…
