The story so far…
After drinking a bad bottle of Tru Blood that has been tainted by the Vampire Liberation Front. Jessica goes on a rampage through Bon Temps and crashes the high school prom to confront the boy from her past who insidiously broke her heart. Meanwhile, Eric and Sookie are tracking down the hideout of the VLF in hopes of bringing them to justice–and find a way to save Jessica before it’s too late!

This installment of our story continues the  flashback of Jessica’s last night as a human. It picks up with her looking very much like Sookie, walking down a deserted road in the middle of the night, and praying that her parents won’t notice that she snuck out. Up roars a vintage red convertible carrying a couple of vampires who look very familiar.*

They throw Jessica in the trunk and what ensues is three pitch black frames only relieved with speech bubbles of Jessica’s prayers. The flashback ends where “I Don’t Wanna Know” picked up her story back in season 1 with her release from the trunk and subsequent draining.

Back in the present, Jessica holds the bloody and unconscious prom king and cad Justin Brown, alternately feeding and wailing. She is oblivious to the chaos around her. The scene inside the Bon Temps High School gym appears to be a remake of Carrie with panicked students and teachers stampeding to the exits. Unfortunately, Acting-Sheriff Andy Bellefleur has chained them all shut with silver in a failed attempt to keep out any feral vampires who might try to disrupt the prom.

Pam and Bill get Andy to remove the chains and rush in. Bill prevents a teacher from staking Jessica and goes to Justin’s aid. Pam holds back Jessica who shouts at Bill to let Justin die. In the end, Jessica escapes from Pam’s hold, but Hoyt lassos her with one of Andy’s silver chains. It hurts him more than it hurts her.

Meanwhile…

An oddly pudgy Sookie and Eric track Dr. Yoshiro to Gator Town, an abandoned amusement park, and they soon realize that the vampries of the VLF are as phony as a televangelist.

Across the border in Texas, the Reverend Steve Newlin is on the phone with his ex. The Fellowship of the Sun is in trouble financially, and he is demanding half the profits from Sarah’s new book, Sunset. She gives him the kiss-off as she prepares to launch her book tour.

Steve has bigger problems to worry about though. He gets a call from the faux vamps at Gator Town. They want to know what to do about a security breach involving a big pasty blond vampire and a little lady.

Bill brings Jessica back to Merlotte’s.  Tara is holding down the fort  watching Sarah on TV talk up her book. Bill deposits Jessica in the fridge. She has started bleeding out, and they fear the end is near. Bill sets off to find Sookie and Eric, ostensibly to help find a cure.

In the aftermath of the events in Bon Temps, Sam and Tara commiserate over the trouble vampires have caused them.

Pam cleans up the mess at the high school by healing Justin, taking away all his memories of the attack, and bestowing on him a lifelong case of impotence which can only be cured by a chicken suit.

And Jason watches out for Hoyt.
