this is bugging me today.  Why is it that Pam and Jessica have shown no interest in Sookie's blood?  Seems like Jessica especially should have gone crazy by her smell.

With Jessica, I believe it's like the dog that didn't bark. She SHOULD have had some kind of reaction to Sookie like all other vampires. Why didn't she? I believe it's because before the first time Jess met Sookie, Bill had warned Jess not to say anything. She's usually so openly reactive what other reason could there be? And why would Bill warn his daughter not to mention the elephant in the room?

OTOH, Pam was shown decisively reacting to Sookie. After moving in close to Sookie in FT bathroom after the LS staking, she said: "Hmm, I beginning to see what all the fuss is about". This statement had to refer to her smell.

Jesus and I agreed to see other people, but that don't mean we don't still talk from time to time.

Lorena didn't have a sniff reaction in S2 Godric's nest did she?  She only thought Sook looked innocent, the kind that Bill liked.  But then she knew what Sookie was.  Godric didn't react either to the scent.  Part of the plan to have him disappear?

Come to think of it, no other vampire was close enough to her at his nest.

RE took a good whiff when he was close enough in S3.

Jess not ever reacting to Sookie's smell is highly suspicious, even SAM noticed her smell (in one of his jumbly thoughts from season 1, one of them was 'she smells so good'). The older vamps might have better control or manners, but Jess is wild and reactive, logically she should have dove for Sookie the first night they met. She's been around Sookie when she's been bleeding, and shown no temptation to bite. She's been around Sookie when she's been hungry, and shown no temptation to bite. She's had sex with Jason and not bitten him (genetically speaking, he is a little fairy, and should, therefor be a little bit more tempting than your average human). Speaking of, judging by Hoyt, Bill never taught her how to heal bite marks (MAKER OF THE YEAR).

Of the vampires who have been close enough to Sookie to get a good whiff, Eric, Pam, the Monroe vamps, and Russell all reacted to her scent; Jess, Lorena, Isabel, Stan, and Godric did not; Nan didn't either, but that could be because she already knew what she was and was controlling her reactions; Talbot was too busy freaking out over the Bill-shaped hole in the ceiling to care about how good she smelled. Although, I did notice that just after Talbot stormed off in a huff and Russell went after him to 'smooth things over' (when Eric was all lion-pacing in front of Sookie), that he came back in different clothes; did his other ones get torn off during a rather amorous smoothing over of things? There was no real reason for him to change, his clothes weren't bloodied or anything.

None of the vamps in Dallas remarked upon her smell, which is incredibly odd. She smelled awesome in season 1, smelled awesome in season 3, so why, when she was surrounded by vamps in season 2, not one felt the need to comment on her scent? It can't be Bill's blood, as she's had shittons of that and it hasn't affected her scent. Could Maryann's poison have temporarily alter her scent? And if Barry really was a fairy (which I highly doubt), how was he able to work with vamps without getting drained in his first week by some baby vamp he walked too close to?

Side-Note on Sam's jumbly thoughts: Am I correct that TB Sookie has said that weres/shifters thoughts are harder to read? That they're all jumbly (like Sam's were in season 1)? If I'm not getting TBSookie confused with BookSook, then why were Alcide's always so clear, even when he didn't want her to be reading them?

If I am not mistaken Exit, I think on the show she has an open channel to the were mind.  I don't think there was mention of a difference as in the books.
