Have no fear, some semblance of sanity has been restored. Heigl's Plum project tanked at the box office–duh. And Taylor Swift is out of the running for Les Mis.

Taylor Swift Loses Les Miserables Eponine Role in Film

Les Miserables will be sans Taylor Swift.

The country singer will not be playing the coveted role of Eponine in the upcoming film adaptation of the blockbuster Broadway/West End musical after all. Although the "Speak Now" crooner, 22, was in talks for the part, the tragic heroine who sings "On My Own" will be Samantha Barks, a musical theater veteran who did the honors in a 25th anniversary concert for the show.

According to BroadwayWorld, theater mogul and Les Miserables' original creator Cameron Mackintosh announced the news Tuesday evening at the Manchester Palace, where Barks was a featuring performer in Olivier!

"Most incredible moment of my life!!!" she later tweeted.

Other A-list actresses that had been in contention for the role include Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood.

The film will be directed by Tom Hooper and has confirmed stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crow, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried.

Russell Crowe?  He was a singer in the 80's or 90's.  A really bad singer….Hugh Jackman I can see.  Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway too.  Why am I having such a hard time with Russell Crowe?
