This had been listed in Season 4 spoilers. Did I miss something?

The Bellefleur family reunion may not be a fun one. When Andy’s sister Portia (Courtney Ford) returns to town, Andy doesn’t exactly roll out the welcome wagon. “[Their reunion] is awkward and uncomfortable because my sister got the looks and the brains,” Chris Bauer says. “Our grandmother loves her and dotes on her. The chip on Andy’s shoulder is so high it bumps into the moon. She’s no exception. She’s part of the problem as far as Andy is concerned.”

Whoa. None of that sounds familiar. Portia never left town, for one thing. She was mentioned way back in s2 as coming to pick up Andy from Merlotte's!

Aside from that one time when Portia took Bill to meet her Gran, were Portia and Andy ever even in the same room together?

Nope. In fact, I don't think they even spoke in that scene. Portia referred to his 'stressful job' after he left but I don't think they even looked at each other?

Three months after filming began…Mab was only in ep 1..

It's early February, and episode 403 is shooting at an undisclosed location just outside of sunny (but surprisingly cold) Los Angeles.  The halls of the production office are bustling.  Everyone is talking about how insanely talented Fiona Shaw is. Rebecca Wisocky just came in for a fitting.  Our script coordinator Daniel is rushing out new pages.  Post-production is delivering their watermarked dailies to all the powers that be.

http://www.inside-true-blood-b…..loods.html

E! Online says: (2/14) The show is now shooting scenes in a stage decorated with twinkle lights and greenery that’s being populated with beautiful men and women in gold body paint and robes.

Gold paint? That's not even Fairyland! Sounds more like an Eyes Wide Shut scene.

It does! Not to mention, this was well past the time they were filming scenes in Fairy and they were not speaking in the past tense: "now  shooting scenes.."

Stephen Moyer on the London flashback:

when asked about how well he knows his character of Bill Compton he says, “I think I know him inside and out“. However, Stephen goes on to say that with Alan Ball, there is always the unexpected and for example, in Season 4, he was surprised by a flashback scene that he never would thought of for Bill.

http://www.trueblood-online.co…..d-theatre/

He wasn't surprised by the time period because he and AS discussed doing 'punk' flashbacks in one of the DVD commentaries. And SM certainly could not have been surprised at how 'heroic' Bill came off in the scene as we saw it, so what was it about that flashback that surprised him so much? [And if he knows Bill so well, how could he have been surprised by anything he does?]

This probably doesn't mean anything but I can't figure out from her stream what/who she's referring to but it's definitely weird. From the twitter of tanyaTTwright [Kenya]

This sort of goes in this thread. From Season 3 casting. I thought the wording of stay for a spell was weird.

TALBOT: Male, 20s – 30s. This "intensely beautiful" male
vampire has the buff good looks of an underwear model and an acerbic and
sarcastic manner. Full of dishy sarcasm and cheerful prattle, he shows Bill around
a magnificent mansion where Bill has been "invited" to stay for a
spell.

From Season 4 casting:

I don't remember any female sheriff cheering Pam. The only thing she said was "Sweetie, your ear."

Episode 5

Female Sheriff: 30s – 40s, this female vampire sheriff cheers
on Pam…1 line, 1 scene (56)

Haha, that's awesome! It never struck me before but in light of subsequent events I have to say, it seems like RE at least attempted to put a spell on Bill. But I guess he's got so many ways of 'protection' that it didn't take? IDK, but it's intriguing for sure.

Unless you count RE touching Bill's forehead. It's been speculated that RE accessed Bill's third eye and influenced his dreams, and it's just possible that RE took control of some other of his mental images.

I agree he did it to access Bill's third eye, but I have trouble with the theory that RE influenced Bill's dream. That dream was dreck melodrama, seemingly an almost complete fabrication. Of what use was that dream to RE? Or more to the point, why would he influence Bill to dream a dreck melodrama?  I refuse to believe that Bill decided to switch allegiance supposedly because the dream caused him to 'remember' that loving humans only causes them pain. Bill could not care less if he causes pain! And what about that boner? What was about the dream as we saw it that caused Bill to become aroused?

I think Bill was aware of exactly what RE was doing with that touch to the forehead so he 'dreamed' accordingly, rather like Hugo and Debbie controlling their thoughts to deceive Sookie. The boner came about as he remembered what really happened. I think he dreamed that scenario to give himself a 'noble' reasoning for switching allegiance. The switch and it's reasoning was an attempt to distract RE from Sookie's importance as something other than a small town waitress that he's in love with. rolleyes But RE is no Bill Banger..he wasn't deceived for a minute, but Bill showed us he was perfectly capable of egotistically thinking he could lie to RE and get away with it. BTW, Bill is a shit playwright, which is why his TB narrative sucks ass.

Suppose that RE influenced him just enough to think about his relationship with Lorena and a return to Bon Temps, the fact that it was shown as a melodrama would be down to Bill. If it was a set up by RE it would also give him insight into how Bill's mind worked and another reason for Bill to want to get rid of RE.

We'd already had Bill's version of his turning that was skewed and other scenes about his relationship with Lorena which should have encouraged people to look closely at what Bill is dreaming about and see what things might be off.

RE's forehead poke; what he may have been doing was trying to get Bill to inadvertently admit what his whole deal is/how he gets his power/blah blah blah, and Bill, trying to stop himself from divulging that information, put on a big distracting spectacular Spectacular so the Duke wouldn't notice Satine was alone in an elephant with a Bohemian, so to speak.

Because where he buried his son in this dream, where it all started and ended, is that Mystery Spot I pointed out in the Season 5 speculation thread. The spot where:

  • Bill crawled out of the dirt and fucked (possibly raped) Sookie in 01x08
  • The pond Portkey thing from Doucheland to Faery Proper is (03x07)
  • Where Claudine lay in wait for Sookie to run past in her sudden despair and steal her away to Faery (03x12)
  • Where Martonia revealed herself in 04x08
  • Where Amnesia!Eric killed Beverleen *maybe…we don't actually see Eric running past her, her throat literally just explodes -and its actually very detailed gore make-up for something you can't even see in real time-, and then Eric has her throat in his hands and a bloody mouth, but we never see him spit the throat out of his mouth (however he does spit a lot of blood out of his mouth, whomever's blood it is he's not willing to drink it), so unless Eric can move far faster than they've ever shown before, I can't be certain that he did kill her and its not some other sorcery* (04x08)
  • Where Amnesia!Eric nommed that Scruffy Guy (04x08)
  • Where Amnesia!Eric was retaken by Martonia (yes, all three, its the same headstones and fences in the background, he just kept going around in circles, I’m assuming through bewitchment) (04x08)
  • The spot where Holly became fucking invisible when the camera switched briefly to Scruffy Guys’s POV after the Beverleen throat-ripping (04x08)

I think he may have done a big song and dance number to try to distract RE (who, according to DOH, does have some mystical know-how) from the surroundings.

Absolutely agreed. It's kind of like Tara and Rene going 'lalalalalaala' when Sookie tried to read their minds. I don't think RE was fooled.

Also agreed about the Mystery Spot being some sort of…I don't know what the fuck you'd call it but apparently Bill is drawing power from it.

This hoodie jacket is too reminiscent of s4 hoodie not to make note of it:

[recent fan photo on TB set]

I know it has sleeves and the other didn't, and they are not EXACTLY the same color, just thought it was interesting.

I was looking for something else, and I happened across this Vault page wherein 03x01 is titled 'Pack of Wolves' (link)

So I decided to look around a bit more, and I managed to find a couple of other interesting things when not rolling my eyes clear out of my goddamn head. Many pardons if this is old news. Well, I mean, literally it is old news, but I mean, known old news. But these were all ones I hadn't read before.

1. Interview with Alan Ball:

VAULT: Why wasn’t there more Eric in the (season 2) finale?
BALL:
There is a reason for not seeing Eric in the last part of the episode, but if I explain it, I’ll be [giving away] too much.

*FUCKING FLAILING SO HARD*

VAULT: Is there anything I’m forgetting to ask you?
BALL:
I’m surprised you didn’t ask who took Bill.

VAULT: Who took Bill?
BALL:
It was Hoyt’s mother.

(WATCH THIS TURN OUT TO BE TRUE)

2. Ball on Bill's disappearance: "Sookie will even consider the possibility that he left of his own volition." <–When did she ever? Did I miss that?

3. Wait…waht?: Helmets have become a joke in the writer’s room. Tucker explained how the writers became aware they were relying too much on protective headgear. “There’ve been several moments that we’ve been pitching things and thought, ‘Oh, well, maybe she could be wearing a helmet, and that would protect her. Maybe he could wear a helmet in that scene,’” Tucker recalled. “Suddenly we realized we had a whole bunch of characters wearing helmets for no particular reason. So we thought, oh, that’s the theme of the season.”

(Show Your True Helmets.)

4. VAULT: So, if it’s true that we’ll be learning a lot more about Lafayette this year, including his mom and a new boyfriend, how does that tie into the overall mythology of the show?

NELSAN ELLIS: “It doesn’t, because Lafayette’s storyline is completely new, considering that I’m not supposed to be in the series. Lafayette was supposed to die the seventh episode of the first season. If I have a tie into the mythology it’s my tie into the vampires. I’m Eric’s henchman (Alexander Skarsgård) now. So that’s my tie to the mythology, but my other storyline is human, and it’s all new.”

Shit. I never knew he was originally slated to die that early in season 1. That's not even comparable to the books. Was he gonna burn up with the Monroe vamps in Burning House of Love? Whyyyyy?

5. Okay, this doesn't reveal anything, but I'm amused at the casting call for the reporter who gets de-spined by Russell: [FAMOUS NEWSCASTER] Male, 40s – 50s. Seen on TV, “the most famous newscaster we can get”. It just brings to mind images of Stone Phillips getting some surprise spinal surgery courtesy of Dr. Edgington

6. Anna Camp will reprise her role as Sarah Newlin in Season 3 starting in Episode 1 (Thaaaaat didn't happen…sadly.)

7. Casting Call for I Smell A Rat:

[JADE] 30s, female. A big-haired, vamp-hating goon, she thinks all “fangers” should pay. She and her husband, Vern, head to Bill’s to deliver an attempted beatdown but Jade quickly finds herself at Jessica’s mercy. Guest star.

[VERN] 30s. This angry, ignorant, vamp-hating goon and his wife Jade think all “fangers” should pay, and they head to Bill’s to enact a hate crime or two. Vern quickly discovers that he’s in over his head. Guest star.

[FEMALE COP] This female cop approaches Russell and shines a flashlight on him, asking him to turn around. 2 lines, 1 scene. (Possibly the body of the guard seen at the art museum?)

8. "Lindsey Braun (Hadley) also tells us that she’s really enjoying exploring her sexuality on the show, so we’ll no doubt see more of Hadley and the Queen in weeks to come. Just when you thought Bon Temps couldn’t get any hotter…"

Hadley…was a decidedly non-sexual character. The most sex we got with Hadley was Eric grabbed her boob, then her Catwalk of Shame from…someone's bedroom. Who was she fucking on camera that we never got to see?

9. This eerie image from "Evil is Going On":

(This looks like the scene where Lala sees the blood on Sam's hands, but they're never side-by-side like this, nor staring directly at the audience.)

10. And lastly, this Eerie-For-A-Completely-Different-Reason picture:

I CAN'T. BITCH, WHERE YOUR EYEBROWS AT? THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?

ALSO, MOYER, I APPRECIATE THE AMBIGUITY OF THAT QUOTE. PROTECT, INDEED. JUST AS THE FARMER PROTECTS HIS CHICKENS THAT HE MIGHT EAT THEIR BABIES.
