You're probably right, I was thinking more along the lines of BG's use of the term that

can also be used to describe a state with three different military leaders who all claim to be the sole leader.

Apart from politics the prof mentions that Google is run by a triumvirate.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triumvirate

And it's true that triumvirates are often made up of leaders of opposing factions. It's a deal with the devil to keep the balance of power.  But we know, or strongly suspect, that TA is not balanced, it's mostly tilted one way. Either there are no 'good' factions who would squawk at Bill Compton becoming king, or the 'good' factions have no say in these decisions. They're inside but act only as figureheads, like Roman Senators during Empire.

Sometimes there can be a faction in charge, a faction who want regime change and a wild card outsider.

Sounds exactly right! And you know at this level of power there is always infighting and backstabbing and Machiavellian plotting afoot to advance agendas. I hope we get to see all of it. Laugh

That's true anna, that's the way I was thinking of the term triumvirate.  The Roman form, J Caesar and cohorts.

What it seems to me is that it's going to come to a civil war between the ruling vampires.  The cast description of 'Kimbe' seems deliberate mentioning Roman whatever it was.

Julius Caesar and his co-rulers did enter into a civil war with Octavius and his triumvirate.  Oddly, the victor Octavius ( later called Caesar Augustus if I remember my history) ushered in the longest peace in the ancient world, what was called the Pax Romana.

There's nothing quite like the Romans for civil war, infighting, backstabbing, Machiavellian plotting and poisonings.

Have either of you read or watched I Claudius?

Jacob Hopkins is joining True Blood season 5 as a vampire. A very young vampire.
According to our source, Hopkins has signed on to play Alexander Drew, the vampire who was turned when he was just 9 years old. The angelic looking Alexander is a member of the Authority who loves smoking and razzing his fellow council members. He first appears in episode 5.02, “Authority Always Wins”.

Wow, they went right for it, didn't they?  Surprised

I wonder if this True Baby Vampire is related to the movie Let the Right One In?

Since AB recommended both Night/Day Watch and LTROI Alexander's story could reference either.

If the story goes that Alexander was turned when he was young because he had a life-threatening disease then that could echo Kostya in Night Watch. Eli became a vampire in LTROI for reasons that are hinted at but not spelled out.

when i read this the first thing that came to mind was maybe it's a nod to Alexei (Romanov)

but then, i've not yet read the recommended Night/Day Watch. still taking it in that the actor/character

is so young.

^^People are upset that such a young kid will be asked to simulate smoking,[like no kid would ever do that on his own] and he'll probably curse and maybe some stuff that's much worse. Yet Linda Blair did what she did in The Exorcist with no ill effects that I know of. At the very least it didn't turn her into a demon possessed child. Laugh It's all about his parents making the kid fully understand that it's just playacting. It's not really any different from an adult actor doing things in character that he considers immoral as a person. The kid can be helped to separate the two. Frankly, I doubt AB would cast a young child in that part if he didn't have supportive and sensitive parents.

agree with you sunny. have no doubt that the kid will be looked after and most likely doted on by cast and crew. how could you not? (nana of 4 here-and proud of it!)

for me, it's all about the "creepy little kid" characters-they always just freak me right the hell out! Surprised and this lil tyke is oooold, read: he's done some really nasty stuff to survive this long. that thought coupled with the sweet young face-well, that pretty much sums up "the true face of vampires" in a nut-shell for me. as well as sook's relationship with bill.

@angiequinn

If you like creepy, try Let The Right One In or the American version, Let Me In.  I'm not a fan of creepy.  Having just my cat for company in the house I start to hear all kinds of things that go bump in the night, checking doors and windows repeatedly.Smile

ATTENTION PEOPLE IN CYBERLAND. Clearly Alan Ball's vampires can smoke if they want to.

I know this is so wrong but there is nothing funnier to me than a cute kid cussing!  Cracks me up every time.  Somehow it loses it's charm when they turn 15.
