Jessica continues to be our only external timeline in July of 2010.  Here again, we lose where we are in the story because Jessica only references her POV.  We have to leap forward to when she directly mentions an event that we can match up with the internal timeline.  Jessica mentions her first night working at Merlotte's on July 12, 2010, so that is where we re-join the timeline, but there were events that occurred between when Jessica was paid a visit by Franklin Mott and her first night at working at Merlotte's and there is no way I am able  place the events on actual dates.  Again for continuity, I will include season 3 screen shots to orient y'all…

Season 3, Day 5

Jason burns application

Season 3, Night 5

Sam's alarm goes off, Sam wearing Merlotte's T-Shirt

Sookie and Alcide go to Lou Pine's

Franklin Mott finds Tara

Bill and Lorena have twisty sex

Bill breaks up with Sookie on the phone

Sookie doesn't have a nut sack

Sam chats with the folks about Tommy

Franklin Mott makes a puppet out of Tara

 Bill prefers to sleep alone

Eric dreams of Sookie

 Season 3, Day 6

 Steak, it's what's for breakfast

Lala leaves Tara a message

Sookie meets Janice

Bud's retirement party

Arlene's the only waitress at Merlotte's

Sookie's makeover

Season 3, Night 6

Russell asks Bill about his work history

Franklin returns for Tara

The Solid Kind Of Happy

I've been wonderin' about my human family a lot lately. Not the pinin', missin' kind of wonderin', but the curious kind. I think it's 'cause my human birthday is coming up. I haven't told Bill or Sookie or anyone about it. Doesn't really matter anymore, I guess, it's not like I'm going to turn eighteen. But like, what's my mama wearin' today? That yellow cardigan she wears when there's a draft, or the blue turtleneck for when she's doin' housework, with a hole in the sleeve? And my daddy, is he watchin' the game? How many beers has he already had tonight? I guess I do start to feel, I don't know, something, when I think about Eden. She's stuck back there with those lame excuses for parents. Sure, she was a pain in the ass sometimes, what little sister ain't, but she didn't do nothin' wrong. She doesn't deserve the belt. It used to be daddy wouldn't beat her as much. He'd mostly just look at her like he wanted to, but then send her to her room without dinner instead. But now that I'm not there to take all the heat, I just hope she isn't getting it extra hard.

Parta me wants to go back there and kidnap her. I mean, I wouldn't turn her into a vampire, but maybe I could just show her there's a big world out there. Bigger than that house and that church and that idiotic little life. She could meet a boy, like I met Hoyt, and be happy. The real kinda happy. Not the passin' kind, but the solid kind. She deserves that, hell, all nine year olds do. She'll be ten next week, actually. Our birthdays were real close together. It's strange when you think about it, she'll be ten, then eleven, then twelve, pretty soon she'll be older than me. And I'll just be one of those memories to her, like dust particles floatin' through the room, gettin' caught in your throat or whatever. They're always there, but you can't see 'em all the time, only when they hit a shaft of light.

Anyway, sorry for gettin' so heavy on y'all. I guess I just wanna dedicate this post to Eden, back home. Happy birthday, sis.

Fruit Leathers and Chicken Babies

The last thing I ate? A fruit leather. Lame, I know. And here I am now, workin' at a restaurant that serves burgers and rings and, like, seven types of beer, and I'm never gonna be able to have any of it. Kinda funny, isn't it? Don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED to have a job (my first job, actually!) but the ironies of bein' a vampire seem never-endin'.

You know what's also never-endin'? First night here at Merlotte's. I like the job 'n all, but there isn't much goin' on. So far hostessing has been pretty easy. All I gotta do is walk people to an open table and wish 'em a good meal. But every time I walk by booth #4, I get this pit in my stomach. Like that fruit leather's still sittin' in there, but it's grown arms and legs and like, twelve times its original size, and it's gonna come crawlin' up my throat and pukin' outta my mouth at any moment. Not that vampires can puke, but still. Wait…can they? Anyway, booth #4 is where I met Hoyt. He said somethin' stupid about chicken babies and I was hooked. I guess maybe you have to know him. But my human life caught up with me tonight, and it put the whole Hoyt thing in perspective, I think. People move in and outta each others' lives all the time. Vampire or human, it's just a parta growin' up.

Thanks again osterby. Your work on these timelines is absolutely phenomenal!

OT but..

"Sookie sees Coot's thoughts"

This is why I believe weres and shifters can be glamoured. If their thoughts can be read they can be glamoured, I'm thinking.

Jesus and I agreed to see other people, but that don't mean we don't still talk from time to time.

Just to add one more thought to Were's and shifters being glamoured…..When Alcide returned to the parking lot  where RE was entombed, the worker with him said he thought someone had hit delete in his brain.

Alcide immediately realized he'd been glamoured.

Most if not all his crew would be pack members.  Even though it was not specified in the series, in the books his crew were pack.

You are welcome everyone.  I am glad that you all have even the slightest interest in my little project!

I am surprised that no one picked up on the registration on Crystal's truck being one month expired.

If weres/shifters can be glamoured, it would go a long way to explaining why Sam/Alcide/Debbie would do this inexplicable thing/allow some fuckery or another to happen. And if Alcide is a Bad Dog, whomever his current master is could glamour that fact away, just in case Sookie catches a stray thought (so she would have to be touching them and looking for certain information to be able to see the blank spot like with Ginger).

I wonder if weres/shifters can only be glamoured by vamps whose blood they have had. Like the vamps blood needs a foothold before their magic can work. It would be just one of the many reasons Russell gave his pack his blood (and to keep them hooked and therefor loyal).

This is all true, and I agree the blood allowing the vamp to glamour–or, actually, the blood connection could allow the ultimate covert glamour/hypnosis technique.  The vampire need never say a word, or even be near the subject, just send undetectable telepathic instructions as demonstrated by the telepathic communication of terrible threesome dream. I'm convinced Eric showed her that on purpose when Bill would rather not have her know about it. HA TAKE THAT BILL. I bet this is how he's done it with Sookie too. I think the blood is a 'back door' to exploit a supe's–any kind of supe per MA–natural immunity to straight out glamour/hypnosis.

But in a way and in my opinion, debating 'can they' or 'can't they' be glamoured has been a moot point since it was first debated in the TB fandom. It was never any question with me because I was presented with a choice between believing shifters and weres can  be glamoured, or believing five friends would all fell asleep at the same time while Sookie's very life hung in the balance. They had just been told to prepare for her death!!!!! Did they just all say to themselves, 'oh well, the guy who savagely attacked Sookie to the brink of death will take care of it. No biggie, LET'S TAKE A NAP.' Haha, since then I have assumed the susceptibility of weres and shifters to hypnosis without question. It doesn't really matter if Bill uses the usual glamour technique or if he has to use the blood to manipulate their thoughts,  both the intent and the effects are the same.

Yup.  It makes no sense at all that the women [Tara] who shoved Bill's ass out the back of the van into the sunlight, knowing vampires die in the sun, would not keep an eye on him while he was in the room.

Also, I don't recall anyone questioning the fact that he didn't curl up and die in the sun. NO ONE.

Nope, nobody questioned the ASTONISHING FACT that Bill survived an unceremonious trip into daylight. Now how could that be? There IS only one answer.

Haha, I just realized there were only four of them at the hospital not five. WTF me. Embarassed

All these sleeping people around Bill…

Wasn't it Renee who pointed out that Jerry went night, night when Sookie crashed the vampire orgy with Malcolm, Diane, Liam and Bill?

I wonder if there were any other times?

@osterby–"Wasn't it Renee who pointed out that Jerry went night, night when Sookie crashed the vampire orgy with Malcolm, Diane, Liam and Bill?"

Yep. It looked  like Bill twisted and broke Jerry's arm but instead of screaming and yelling in pain he just…fell asleep. I think Renee believes he actually died, and that this was an early, not entirely successful attempt to twist Sookie's perception of what she was seeing.

So I just rewatched Mine, because I wanted to see Jerry go night, night (I hadn't noticed that the first time). Watching in slo mo, it doesn't even look like Bill twists Jerry's arm, just grasps it firmly and pulls him away. Then Jerry goes all wilting maiden on us and 'passes out'. And Malcolm did say to Bill in reference to Jerry 'I took a trophy, too', and we all know how Bill likes to take mementos of his victims.

And the first 10-15 minutes of Mine are so important when trying to understand what Bill is about and after. All of Sookie's programming, so to speak, is uttered by Bill; I just want to make sure you're safe; You will never find anyone else; Other vampires are vicious and brutal, but not me, I'm different, stay away from other vampires; You are mine. He was testing his ability to control and manipulate her, but unfortunately for him it hasn't taken, Sookie is still fighting it, and I think he's somewhat surprised by that. Considering his and Sophie-Anne's extensive knowledge of obscure supes, you would figure they would know how to ensnare a fairy, but it seems they underestimated Sookie. I know a lot of people complain about Sookie being weak, but I think that's just Ball messing with us, not showing us the battle that she is fighting. And you got to give Sookie credit, she put up a hell of a fight, she kept rejecting Bill over and over again all throughout season 1 and up through the first couple episodes of season 2, and kept defying his will even after that. Bill had to go to a hell of a lot of trouble and kill a lot of shit before Sookie started to turn into Stepford Sookie, and even now its not perfect control.

And Sookie was wearing a shirt with bunnies on it (and it was adorable, and I kind of want it, but that's not the point).

Has it been pointed out before that as Sookie enters Bill's house for the first time, we see it from the point of view of that painting of that dude, that Dorian Gray looking one? The amount of carpet seen, the low line of sight, it all seems to indicate that the painting is watching Sookie enter the house.

And the house the Monroe vamps live at? It can't be the house that Royce and his pals burnt. The interior dimensions in no way correlate to the house we see Royce burn down. When Bill goes to visit, not only is their parlor curved on the front end (the room isn't a square), it has big windows, there are at least three large rooms (and the foyer) in the front half of the house, and a second story. It's a big gloriously tacky monument to a 1960's-70's aesthetic.

You can see from the way the windows are situated that the room curves in front. Hi, Janella!

But when Royce and his pals went to go take care of the Monroe vamps, the house they burned is old and small, with straight sides, small windows, and no second story (their might be room for a small crawlspace kind of an attic, but nothing more, and that white staircase is a little grand for just a crawlspace). Royce was kind enough to run around the whole thing to give us a good long look, and I don't see that 60's love nest fitting anywhere in the blue house.

And considering that the Monroe vamps location was well-known, they had to have stayed in one location (and if they didn't, then Royce had to be glamoured to know where they would sleep for the day, if not in the Love Den, or possibly their coffins were moved to the blue house unbeknownst to them as they slept for the day). I thought Bill had a hand in their deaths, but this is just more evidence thereof.

(Sorry to go on such a tangent).

Exit, two quick comments before I read the rest and formulate a reply. Kudos btw on finding that painting pov!

"And the house the Monroe vamps live at? It can't be the house that Royce and his pals burnt. The interior dimensions in no way correlate to the house we see Royce burn down."

This is the house in Monroe. The nest had 'just closed' on the house in BT when it was burned down.

" And you got to give Sookie credit, she put up a hell of a fight, she kept rejecting Bill over and over again all throughout season 1 and up through the first couple episodes of season 2, and kept defying his will even after that. Bill had to go to a hell of a lot of trouble and kill a lot of shit before Sookie started to turn into Stepford Sookie, and even now its not perfect control."

Exactly right, exactly. She fought and fought and fought. I just pointed out in my new thread on s2: Scratches that Sookie's resolve in the season 1 finale not to drink Bill's blood to heal her wounds from Rene is still evident in 2.03 when she's still sporting that shiner. Because of Sookie's stubborness, the minotaur attack was staged from the moment Jessica lured Sookie to her parents house, with Bill conveniently shopping nearby just waiting for his cue.

In season 4, Bill woudn't have tried to have Claudine kidnap Sookie or have his snipers shoot her if her programming was running smoothly.

BBL for the rest. GREAT POST WOO HOO.

Jesus and I agreed to see other people, but that don't mean we don't still talk from time to time.
