I'm being a little thick about this Renee.
So if Bill participated in his own penance, was it to make an ally he could command totally?

I think there are a couple possibilities. Perhaps it's only in retrospect that the two vampires who kidnapped Jessica resemble Eric and Bill. My memory plays tricks on me like that all the time.
The other possibility is that Bill's trial was rigged since he was under deep cover for TA since 1982. If that is the case, he could have worked out with the magister what his punishment would be and could have been sent out in that convertible with a guard to pick his own punishment.
Osterby pointed out how, with the exception of Sookie, all of the women around Bill are red heads. Jessica's hair color could be a clue that he choose her because she unconsciously reminded him of all the other problem women in his life.

Thanks for the explanation. I was disturbed by the resemblance to Eric, unless Eric is somehow aware that Bill is under deep cover. Bill being involved wouldn't surprise me. And yes the red hair is telling.

Not sure what to make of 'Convertible Eric.' His coloring and 'type' were right, but his features didn't resemble Eric. 'Convertible Bill' was a dead ringer, though.

I completely agree. I think this is MORE than hinting at Bill choosing his own punishment, it verges on confirmation. There IS a reason for all the red heads around Bill and I wouldn't doubt it if we could find a red headed portrait of his mother. Bill's red highlights glaring at us in Dallas were probably the result of his natural hair growing out at the roots.

There's also his Security squeeze Katie. The only ringer so far is Portia. I wonder if Dame Bellefleur will be a redhead? The actress that is to portray her usually has red hair.

OMFG BG you are so right. Bill didn't initiate a sexual relationship with Portia because she's NOT a red head, but chances are very very great that her grandmother is. That poor woman is doomed.
And I just have to say it: If Jessica and Bill don't have a sexual relationship I will eat my hat collection.

It has to be a different POV–Sookie's. Compare a frame from the first E/S scene to the second one. The second one is obviously Eric's POV. He sees her as a femme fatale in stilettos.

The same thing in Jessica's flashback, too. There she's wearing a cute party dress, not that homemade monstrosity we saw in 1.10. Why? It's not because the comic doesn't copy the show. Time and time we've seen that they do.

No Fae, no bite from Bill. Ordinary blood just doesn't do it for him anymore. Katerina is a hybrid or again, I will eat my hat collection. What a find for Bill! A super-submissive strawberry blonde hybrid. To Bill Sookie must seem like old boring hat by now. He probably figures if only the stupid cow would stay away from Eric and keep her mouth shut he won't have to slaughter her for dog meat.

Wow. I never noticed before. I did notice that this season she is looking a little more spruced up as Summer would say.
Last season she looked terrible most of the time.

Although Bill's wife in the first flashback in season 1 was more blond, the Caroline we saw in season 2 certainly looked Auburn. Sunny, lol….Bill's mommy complex…I can see it!
