Issue 5 ended with Eric and Sookie surrounded by VLF thugs with guns and arrows pointed at them. Issue six picks up with Eric and Sookie’s mid flight dodging bullets arrows, left and right to escape from the Gater Park and Dr Yoshiro’s VLF goons. Eric gets hit. Eric falls on top of a pile of wooden crates. Sookie injures her right ankle when she falls a distance away. The VLF goons find “the dirty fangbanger,” take her to the amusement park’s Snake House and tie her to a chair.

Tara, Sam, and Hoyt each drink a beer at Merlotte’s…Tara wants to know if Hoyt and Sam have a plan for how to handle Jessica if she escapes from the walk-in. Sam suggests that poor Hoyt go outside for some fresh air because he can’t take any more. Tara tells Sam, “it’s either us or Jessica.”Sookie tells her captors “You better let me go. I have very strong friends,” and spits in the face of one of her captors when he recognizes her as the “fuckbuddy” of vampires, a “Harlot,” and “slut” who humiliated the FOTS. One of her captors draws back to hit Sookie as Dr. Yoshiro enters the room exclaiming that he will not tolerate violence against women. Sookie tells the Doc that it looks like he hates women because her friend Jessica drank some of his poison blood. “If ‘Jessica’ is a vampire then she is no longer a woman, she is a mockery of humanity and deserves to meet the sun,” the Doc informs Sookie.Bodies fly across the room and Bill comes to the rescue exclaiming, “Now, kindly unhand my girlfriend.” To which Sookie replies…“Girlfriend?” Out of nowhere the thugs find themselves relieved of their guns. Eric appears with a shoulder full of guns asking which one of the goons shot him, because believe him, he “has ways to make them talk.”

Eric and the goons fight hand to hand as Bill unties Sookie while asking her, “Are you hurt?” Sookie tells Bill she’s fine and… ahem, “Girlfriend…? That’s a little presumptuous, don’t you think?” Bill would rather discuss that later because Dr Y is getting away.Sookie chases after Dr Yoshiro while Bill takes a swing at a thug. A certain Viking, splattered with blood, tells Bill, “Go after Sookie, find Dr Yoshiro, and do not to return without the antidote.” Eric will “clean up this mess.”Bill finds Sookie as she begs Dr Yoshiro to not do as he planned because “we need your help.” Dr Yoshiro explains that his wife was wrong, he didn’t fail as a scientist. His research lead to the discovery of Pathogen V. According to him, “The bio-agent unlocks a vampire’s true, demonic nature while simultaneously destroying their survival instinct.” The FOTS showed him the truth. “Pathogen V was a gift sent by God to show mankind how evil vampires really are.” Dr Yoshiro points his gun to his own head and says, “I am one of God’s soldiers. And now, my mission is complete.”The VLF thugs who escaped Eric’s wrath run out of the Snake Pit to be attacked by a Werewolf. Eric drags the remaining VLF thugs from the building while grumbling about Werewolves…
Dr Yoshiro pulls the trigger and Bill tells Sookie that the Doc could have told him how to save Jessica. Sookie says, “Shh…let me listen.” Sookie hears “….forgive….Body of Christ…kkkkkk…” Sookie and Bill look around and see an Alter, of sorts, with four vials of antidote in the center of a cruciform monstrance.

Merlotte’s becomes very quiet when Jessica stops screaming. Sam and Tara find her in a pool of blood inside the walk-in. Jessica glamours Tara to let her out. Jessica and Tara find Hoyt and Sam. Jess is, “Very, very pissed off! And very, very hungry.”Back at the Snake House, a naked Alcide ties four FOTS thugs to an amusement ride after he has removed one of the thugs jeans and FOTS t-shirt. Alcide and Eric have a chat about Sookie’s taste in men as Alcide dresses. Sookie and Bill emerge from the Snake House and Alcide tells Sookie he’s sorry he was so late. Sookie and Alcide walk off in the direction of Alcides van. When Eric asks Bill about the doctor and the antidote, Bill replies, “Dead…And we have it, but time’s not on our side.”Hoyt stabs his palm to divert Jessica from biting Tara. Jessica releases Tara and suddenly Jessica doesn't feel so good. She bursts through the door of Merlotte’s, ripping it off its hinges and exclaiming “I’m in pain…so much pain! If you really love me, Hoyt, make it stop…!”Sookie, Eric, and Bill hitch a ride with Alcide. Bill wants to know if Alcide can drive faster. Alcide informs Bill, “I’ve got the pedal to the floor. You’re more than welcome to make a vampire sprint for it if you want!”
Sookie urges Bill, “Save her.”
Bill replies, “That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, Sookie! I was never trying to control Jessica. I was only trying to show her my love.” Bill vampires off down the road.

As a kneeling Jessica begs Hoyt to stake her, Bill arrives for the rescue, gets Jessica back into Merlotte’s, and pours one of the vials of antidote down Jessica throat. He tells Jessica, “…It was always a challenge to get you to eat properly!”Jessica snivels…“B-Bill…?”Jason, Tara, and Sookie watch a TBBN newscast while Tara pours out the last of Merlotte’s tainted supply of Tru Blood.
“The so-called ‘Vampire Liberation Front’ was brought down today when an anonymous call led to their base of operations. Sources say the human group was led by Dr David Yoshiro, a disgraced TruBlooddevelopment researcher, who took his own life before he could be arrested.”Live statement from TruBloodCorporation spokesperson:
While we are deeply saddened by the loss of human and vampire life during this crisis, the TruBlood Corporation is pleased that the perpetrators of these heinous poisonings have been stopped. After FDA inspections, all TruBloodplants should be fully operational within a week.
TBBN Anchorman:
Meantime, the NIH has taken control of producing the antidote to Dr. Yoshiro’s “Pathogen V.” Who left it outside NIH Labs in Atlanta remains a mystery. According to reports, the vaccine will be available in all 50 states within the next two weeks. Meanwhile, citizens across the country are taking no chances with TruBlood products stamped with a May production date. If you can even find TruBlood, be prepared to pay through the roof. Some auction sites have reported the synthetic plasma drink selling for as much as $400 a bottle.”
Nan Flanagan, AVL:
What disturbs me more is that even though the VLF has revealed to be a human organization, the media is completely ignoring the fact that Dr. Yoshiro recently joined the Fellowship of the Sun. Clearly, Reverend Steve Newlin was behind all of this. Funny that he chose this moment to suddenly disappear from the spotlight!”
As Sookie, Tara, and Jason chat at the bar. Arlene tells Sookie that one of her tables has been seated. Sookie approaches the booth and finds Bill. She apologizes for the lack of TruBlood. Bill says it’s a good thing he stocked up at home. He asks,“How about just a glass of red wine? Or is my kind not welcome here any more?”
Sookie replies, “Red wine it is.”

OfflineYeah…Bill's the hero….again. Interesting to note here. We were told that the first comic book story took place between season 2 and three. Then this story took place between season 3 and 4? If this is correct then Sookie wasn't in Fairyland for an entire year and two weeks. Bill doesn't look or act like a king to me…and the last pics where Hoyt takes Jessica to Bill's house…Bill's house still has peeling paint.
@Renee…you are the best editor ever!
Thanks again osterby.
Ugh! What IS this fuckery? Bill is a straight up hero and he lurrrves Jessica? Gimme a break!
At least there is this:
"“The bio-agent unlocks a vampire’s true, demonic nature while simultaneously destroying their survival instinct.” "
Sounds a lot like what's happened to Sookie.

OfflineThere were some good clues overall though. I am going to include the CB's in the timeline. There was quite a few references to time. Interesting that there are absolutely no references to Bill being made king but there was reference to Steve Newlin's disappearance.
Lmao…that link hasn't worked for days. I really want to read what you posted!

OfflineThe fuckedupness continues!
Both Renee and I received our Issue 1 French Quarter CB. Renee says she is going to post a re-cap next week. But I will say:
Sunny….there was no reference to Bill being king neither during Tainted Love nor the first issue of FQ. I am beginning to think that Bill has never been king.

This wouldn't surprise me at all. What is the ostensible timeline of FQ?

The first thing I made note of on the first read is that last scene of B/S in Merlotte's as you all mentioned.
I was hopeful at first, but then thought about all the reset buttons Bill pushes. And it is definitely odd the Rev's appearance and alleged disappearance in conjunction with the bar repeat.
It kind of almost fits in with what a number of people have said since the beginning of S4, that things seem off and unreal for TB, as if the whole thing was being watched by someone else. Which made me think of the scrying scene with M/A.
Is it remotely possible that Sookie is being shown what could happen? Or the "someone" is seeing what will/has happened?
I guess we'll have to wait and see what turns up tonight.
The End Times Predictions won't open for me either.
I am both frightened and excited to see what happens tonight. On the one hand, it seems inevitable and logical that we'll get another Bill-reveal, but this issue of the comic has me sweating bullets. It seems to be foreshadowing a reunion.
A complete, all is forgotten reunion.

OfflineInteresting that you should ask. Renee expressed that she thought FQ was concurrent with TL. I am leaning more towards FQ taking place between seasons 4 and 5. There are clues…
Sookie daydreams of Alcide while in the shower. Bill last season, Eric this season…
Sookie continues to remark to Bill that she is not his girlfriend and she seems to be apprehensive of Eric. This actually follows the in the 'essence of the books.' In the fifth book Sookie decided to take a break from vampires.

Offline@osterby–"I am leaning more towards FQ taking place between seasons 4 and 5."
That makes sense.
@BG–"It reminds me of the Dallas episode where what's his name is in the shower and his wife wakes up to find out the previous season was a bad dream."
I sure as hell hope not. Were you the one who mentioned someone scrying for the future and season 4 is showing it to us? This would explain the mirror images that abound, as Marnie's image of herself was in reverse to what the audience saw.
IDK anymore. I'm getting another headache.
