And Sookie's book in The French Quarter has the same metal edges….
Sookie's book is the book, or registry, of vampire serial killers correct? Or is it just individual vampire 'histories' in general like a who's who? Could it actually BE the database with all sorts of incriminating information that would help a vampire businessman get ahead?
So Lamar actually said at separate times that both the ax and the book would help his business? I guess that could mean Bill was has possession of two important items, the book for blackmail and the stake for everything else?

So its the Necronomican?
Sookie said: "If the Necronomicon is in here somewhere, I'm leaving."
Bill said: "The what?"
Sookie said: "Never mind."
Eric pulls a book halfway from a shelf. Ms Agatha approaches Eric.
Ms Agatha said: "You may have that , if you like, Eric. For old times sake."
Eric said: "No, I…don't think I should. But thank you. It will be safer here."
Ms Agatha sits down with a book with metal corners in her hand.
Ms Agatha said: "I think this may be of some use to you."
Sookie said: "Seriously, how shes she know this stuff? And who is this guy?"
Ms Agatha's book is open to a page with a picture of the vampire killer.
Ms Agatha said: "I think I may be able to answer that."

OfflineDon't know Sunny…we have an ax, two stakes and 2 similar books.
It would be a kick in Bill's ass if the book turns out to be an ancient vampire directory. But then again it could be a book of old vampire tales.
Perhaps the last issue of FQ will shed some light, somehow I doubt it, but there is always wishful thinking.

Ok, let's see if we can flesh this out. In TL, Jessica's origin story is 'in disguise' in that we have a clues in a couple of panels that Bill was allowed to pick her out and kidnap her off the street to serve as his punishment, but it wasn't made explicit. Nowhere near it. On the other hand, her crazy actions, driven out of control by tainted blood killing people, were at the forefront and used as a 'divergence' from this fact of her origin. When compared to the corresponding season in which her relationships with Bill, Hoyt, Sook, and her family are front and center, we can assume they acted as a 'divergence' from her actions, which were hidden but for which there were strong clues. In a couple of shots on TB Jessica provided strong clues that she had been driven by the blood to murder her parents.
There are strong parallels but they do not exactly, point for point directly correspond to each other, but are representative of the subtext in the other medium. The overt text of the CB's act as clues to the existence and content of TB's subtext. It points us in the right direction, that is.. From this, I think we can say for certain that the object and the book are representative parallels of secret object/objects on the show but they are not exact replicas.
Over the course of the CB's we have an ax, and then a stake disguised as a walking cane. I think this means we are looking at clues to an overarching sub-textual theme and not a season specific subtext. The representational aspect means the object is neither of these items but is similar. I'm pretty certain this could mean it IS a blade of some sort but disguised as something else. Could this possibly be a reference to the sword behind Eric's desk? Over most of 3 season's his viking sword was disguised as a Civil War era sabre! [or whatever, no expert here] Does this mean he's had the object all along? He does have success in business. Does this mean the CB objects are an obscure hint at how twisted the TB narrative can be? How dissatisfying would that be? I need this to be an actual, material Holy Grail of some sort. LOL.
Uh oh. I just figured it out. I've always referred to Sookie as TB's Holy Grail. She can dig out facts, such as contained in the scene in which she searched the book–a book full of secret knowledge. She can command magic, like the Necronomicon. She is valuable, old [soul], and dangerous in the wrong hands. She is a 'secret weapon' in disguise. She's put away in a box, hung up on a wall like a trophy, sitting by the hearth, chained away in a basement, trapped inside a mirror inside a crystal ball. She can be used to kill, to control, to gain the advantage, to blackmail, to break spells. Touche! She is shiny like the sun, like a sword. She's Bill's 'crutch', his 'prop' per upper like a walking stick. She's an open book, a lost book, a hidden book, a spell book, a database, a book of the dead, of sorrows and memories, of stories and epics, fables and fairies, fires and wars and rumors of war. In short, she's power in a pretty blonde bottle, a bottle being a container for liquid, like the Grail. The sun and the sword, acting in tangent, 'the two' 'the two Sookie's', is a source of untold powers to any who can call her 'mine'.
Thank you anna. I don't know what it was but re-watching the last couple eps of s3 and reading over the CB's a bit somehow made everything come together in my mind, as if I finally know how to WATCH the show while I am integrating all the puzzle pieces. IOW, I feel I can finally wrap my own head around it all at once. I can see the whole picture. The pieces that are missing, the pieces I can't find or won't fit for me no longer distracts me from seeing it. I guess because there are fewer pieces missing by now? Or something. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but I think I'll have to write an entire blog post to explain what I mean. When I figure it out. LOL.

Excellent sunny. I'll really look forward to that post. I tend to get bogged down and distracted by things. Just like a magpie, show me something shiny and I'll grab for it.
I know, me too. My tangents are frequent.

Offline@sunny – "I know it has to do with the Divine Feminine and Mary Magdalene, right? That certainly ties it back to TB. I'll have to google around to get a handle on it."
Yes, Jesus was supposed to have married Mary Magdalene. After the crucifixion, a pregnant Mary M. was spirited away, sailing to France (I think).
@anna
Great catch girl.

I'm pretty certain you are aware of the controversy the film caused. Pressed all kinds of buttons.
If you haven't seen the movie read no further…..
BTW, the Grail isn't a cup.
I'm only dimly aware of some controversy. I remember talk of plagiarism by Dan Brown, and I think I remember some criticism about how he presented some of his theories as facts that others strongly disagree with. Is that what you mean?
