Season 4 General Info

Alan Ball’s Emmy-nominated supernatural drama returns for a chilling fourth season that finds barmaid Sookie reeling from revelations about her heritage and the real reason why her vampire boyfriend, Bill, first sought a relationship with her. [T]he Convent of Sacred Heart purchased two mansions in the 30′s and 40′s in that vicinity – 1) the Otto Kahn Mansion which is right on 1 East 91st (next door to the school maybe?) and the James Burden Mansion which is located a couple of houses down at 7 East 91st. TAP reader Mony says: My friend who lives in La Puente got to be an extra last night on TB set. He was standing there trying to get an Autograph. He said they shot over 30x and he had to keep walking back and forth pretending to text. He told me Alexander was there, Ann,Lafayette and Jesus too. He also said it looked like they were going to film in a shop but they didn’t need him for that so he didn’t get to see. He said the name on the shop was called Moon Goddess. (1/19)

TAP reader Mony says: OMG. Since my husband is out of town I went stalking and guess what I discovered…True Blood filming at Alex’s Bar(Fangtasia). I asked the security guard who will be there, and he said all the cast. But they won’t be there till night (duh!). I got a picture of the parking lot with sookie’s car. I think I’ll be going down there around midnight. (1/21)

Mony was on the set 2/12 and says:

Hi everyone,

Okay, what an adventure. So let me first tell you who was there. It was Arlene, Terry, Holly, Arlenes kids, and a dummy baby (it was toddler size). The crew was so nice, and for some reason they let me and my friend mingle with them. I was trying to act very cool and like it was no big deal…. but in reality I was so FUCKEN excited.

I met Terry and he was so nice, he mingled with everyone. I was able to take a picture with him. He is so down to earth and nothing like his character. Holly was on the phone the whole time and didn’t seem like she wanted to be bothered.

Lets get down to the interesting part. The scene I saw was of Holly outside in her pj’s. It seems like Holly smells smoke first because she is outside by herself when an explosion happens. The only thing that strikes me as weird she seems a little surprised but not that concerned. In most cases people would be panicking. This scene took forever.

The next was hard to see because they put a screen up to keep the smoke in the area so what I saw on the monitor was the neighbors running out and Holly standing there starring at the house.

The child actors went home around 10:30 so the must have done their scene earlier. Arlene had a stunt double with a horrible wig. They also cut Arlenes hair short like that flash back.

I got a 3 sec. clip up the shooting but one of the crew spotted me and told me don’t let them catch you doing that. I wanted to respect them because I’m going back on the 24th for another shooting. My friend made a love connection with the medic so he invited her back but I’m going to be on her like glue.

Jessica Tuck on Inside True Blood Blog: “The only things that made for my least favorite scene were the conditions. It was late at night/early in the morning, around 4am, I’m in this incredibly tight, short skirt (I literally couldn’t breathe), and the worst high heels, walking down a wet cobblestone alley. My feet are flying in all directions and I’m trying to remember my lines and not fall down. It was freezing cold and late at night.” (4/1/11) Her comments suggest that she was in the 80s flashback with Bil.

We did a scene in 3-D this season just to take a look at it,” Ball said in an interview. “HBO asked us to do one. It was pretty cool. I don’t think it’s going to air. We just did it as an experiment, because I don’t know if they’re going to want to take the show 3-D at some point, maybe like a season premiere or a season finale or something. Fiona Shaw is Cast as Marnie
EXCLUSIVE: This is major news for True Blood fans. The new regular role on the HBO vampire series for next season went to veteran Irish theater actress and director Fiona Shaw who is probably best known in the U.S. for her role as Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter movies. On True Blood, she will play Marnie, a mousy, timid and secretly self loathing storefront medium and palm reader who is taken over by the spirit of a powerful witch. The character was originally envisioned younger but is being adjusted for Shaw. Shaw is currently onstage at Dublin’s Abbey Theatre in a limited engagement of Henrik Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman opposite Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan. ONTD True Blood peeks at the Spellbound Script:

He was near the end of the episode (called “Spellbound”, but we already knew that) and the scene had Marnie, Bill and Sookie. The setting wasn’t clear, but Marnie is clearly acting witchy/threatening.

Sookie: “Bill, she’s casting a spell”…

There’s a small bit of action.

Bill: “You have no dominion over us” (to Marnie. I wasn’t sure what this meant, like, she couldn’t put spells on vamps anymore?)

Then the stupid guy with the script flipped two pages, but it’s still Bill and Sookie, but now Tara and Pam are there too.

Tara: “Bill… why did you save me” (Ugh, Tara needs saving again).

Pam: “This is SO. FUCKING. LAME.” (Seriously).

Then Marnie appears to them again, laughs evilly, and that appears to be the cliffhanger of the episode.

And that’s all I got, I know it’s not much, but I thought I should share regardless. If I happen to ride next to this dude again, I’ll do much better detective work.

I think Matt and Featherstone will be engaging the protesters in the 4.02 CC. The actor who plays Featherstone has major action credits to his name, so he’ll probably be the one involved in the fight. Eric may play it smart by leaving the physical stuff to the guard and frustrating the news corespondent by not giving him any but the most banal comments.

Since the first protestor is supposed to be really short, I think he’s going to pick a fight with someone who is very large and male. A mountain like that confronting the itty bitty protester would be sure to go viral in some circles.

Daisy will also be at FT when all of this is going down.

Agreed. It has to be one or the other because I won’t believe Claudine manifested in the material world of her own accord.

I’ll have to look for it but AB made a statement at ComiCon I think about AE. He also made another more cryptic statement which threw the identity of the amnesiac into question, at least in my opinion.

Sam hesitated too long when Sookie asked him if he could turn into a human. My hope is that Bill is that kind of shifter.       As for Claudine, I’m on the fence for that one. Can’t make up my mind which scenario would be better.
      
      Ms. Woodard is fabulous in all her parts, but I hope she returns as Ruby Jean. Ruby Jean and Lette Mae could be an interesting/dysfunctional duo.

        I’ve no doubt this is how it will go. Bill is far too secretive and there are too many advantages to keeping such a secret from the other characters for him to get sloppy and tip his hand on this score. Whether it is revealed to the audience will depend on the narrative. We never get the low-dow dirty on Bill when he is either presenting or controlling the narrative. I fervently hope, since book 4 is so Eric-centric, that the narrative will be from the Viking’s pov.

        just to add, this would have many advantages, not least among them is the fact that TB will be a much more entertaininly humorous show than it has been the last two seasons. Not that it hasn’t had it’s moments, mind you, but this is always when someone else besides the morbidly humorless Bill is presenting or controlling the narrative. (Eric was hilarious in the bullet sucking scene but this was wholly unintentional on Bill’s part. )

    Sure he would! You know how I know? Because Bill told SA: “Sookie is not here” which fully guarantees that she IS there. Remember the preview for the finale? In it, we hear Bill say “Your Majesty, Sookie is here”. I think the truth is ALWAYS in those supposedly ‘deceptive’ previews but once we get to the story itself Bill asserts his influence and puts his own spin on things. He may be counting on Sookie to use her electric hands to incapacitate SA so he can kill her.
    
    (although, you do have a point about her being at MA’s, especially if Bill is the actual owner as we suspect.)

        I don’t think he needs to count on a crisis to bring her back to him emotionally. I think the spell he’s put on Sookie will ‘reboot’ her to an earlier time in their relationship, BEFORE she learned all the heinous stuff about Bill that she’s learned recently. Think of s1 Sookie, after Bill has rescued her from Rene and how totally devoted to and trusting of him she was. He was her hero and nothing marred their ‘perfect peace’, not even Eric’s pursuit of her.

        Of course, it’s just as likely he’ll ‘reboot’ her to a time before she even met Eric, or just selectively wipe Eric from her memory, as the Crystal/Felton/Jason scene seemed to foreshadow. I don’t know if he’ll have to go through the Jessica and Uncle Bartlett reveals all over again or leave those memories intact and ‘rearrange’ the timeline.

Anyhoo, I’m quite certain the timeline is FU because he’s wiped her memories of certain events. There are ‘holes in her brain’ for sure. As for the timeline in 3.12, I’m almost certain the last two scenes need to be switched around. I think Sookie ran out to the cememtery, and got capture by Fake (or compelled) Claudine, well before SA came to Bill’s house. Sookie was already there and under a spell.

  It’s almost certain that Bill wiped Jason’s memory–and probably Andy’s and others as well– of the orgy. Jason’s visions of people with bullet ‘holes’ in their head was symbolic of that and not just his guilty conscience over Eggs. He said at least once in s3 that his mind felt like scrambled eggs, and if you’ll notice in his scene with Bill on the porch discussing the wolves coming after Sookie, Jason seemed extremely disoriented.

The way Sookie runs after Bill when he’s leaving in 3.12 shows how far she has fallen morally without being bewitched, so while I would like to think her returning to Bill after the orgy at his house and after he glamoured the cop was because he ‘rebooted’ her, I can’t.
  
  However, the timeline was screwed from the very beginning, so she saw something that would be a permanent deal breaker. I was trying to think why that would be. Bill could have killed Jerry. He also could have killed the cop instead of just glamouring him. That kind of unrestrained unfounded violence would definitely put Bill in a different light that I don’t think Sookie could ever ratinoalize away.

    I agree, I don’t think she’s been ‘rebooted’ prior to the finale. I think his blood influence and the fact that he can root around in her mind explains why she has holes in her memory. The fact that SO MUCH came to light in s3 would explain why he felt he HAD to do a ‘reboot’ spell at this point. If he tried to selectively wipe her memory of all that she’s learned recently and rearrange every single thing that has happened she would practically be a Swiss cheese-brained zombie. Rebooting and starting over would be the practical way to go.
    
    I also agree that she saw something, or a couple of somethings, that would have been a deal breaker, including killing the cop. We’ve seen that Bill has a tendency toward ‘unprovoked violence’.

    Actually, at that point in the story she probably had not fallen so far morally. I think at that point in her evolution toward the soulless, amoral girl she has become he would pretty much have to selectively wipe her memory of these events, but not ‘reboot’ her entirely as I think he’s done now. It’s also still possible that he can glamour her, imo.

      Yes, I’ve seen a lot of hopeful speculation that we will resume further into the future than we have done in the past. Apparently, most Eric fans want a deus ex machina in the form of a quick, healing trip to Faeland with Sookie coming back all better, more herself, more mature, and emotionally stable. I don’t see AB going this route, not at all. Sookie’s story has to progress in a logical, natural fashion and she still has a ways to go before she can get out of the hell she’s living in. It’s just wishful thinking on the part of some EL’s who think Bill will be relegated to the background while AE and Mature, Fully Clued In Sookie get it on. Not going to happen. Bill is not done with her and we KNOW he’s willing and capable of doing anything to keep his claws into his snack/crack/daywalking dispenser.

        Jason doesn’t trust Bill, but none of them know what Bill did with the Rattrays or that he was sent by the queen. The only ones who know about this so far are Eric and Sookie. If he puts a spell on Sookie he’ll have to put one on Eric as well or it’s game over. With Eric and Sookie losing all memory of what Bill has done, there will no one to interfere. As far as we know, Eric didn’t tell Pam what he learned about Bill so if he forgets that aspect how will she know? Everything will look normal in Bon Temps. Sookie will go back to work, she and Bill will continue their ‘relationship’ as if nothing had happened (because as far as Sookie will be concerned nothing has happened), and Tara won’t be around for a while to call her a dumb bitch. Jason might protest at first but either Sookie will tell him to butt out or Bill will glamour him into acquiescing to this state of affairs. B/S may even ‘live in both houses, plant flower and vegetable gardens, double date with Arlene and Terry, Bill will go fishing with Jason and every thing will be perfectly peaceful’..for a while.

        Plotwise that sounds for more feasible, but the foreshadowing is specifically applies to dismemberment. Hoyt asked Jess about what would happen if his legs were cut off and there have been a few other comments about it, too.
        
        Of course the foreshadowing might not apply to SA at all. I’m just focusing on her because she does loose her legs in the books. It’s hard to imagine a scenario for that in BT unless Maxine shoots her and Bill cuts her in half with a sword while she is down.

        I understand what was foreshadowed by Hoyt’s conversation with Jessica, and I have read the books and remember how QSA loses her legs. I guess I was hoping for something in the foreshadowing that (maybe I missed?) would allow for QSA to be partially paralyzed instead of separated from her lower limbs permanently. Sounds like AB won’t be letting it happen.

Holy Exciting Spoilers from Sam Trammell, Batman!

“True Blood’s” budget may be dedicated largely to fake vital fluids, but at least the show will be saving on wardrobe costs again this year.

Actor Sam Trammell, who plays bar owner/shapeshifter Sam Merlotte on HBO’s fang-fest, says the show’s about to go back into production, and based on his look at the first few scripts he’ll be working without clothes again right off the bat.

Just how soon will Sam be getting naked? “Immediately,” he tells PopcornBiz. “Yeah, I won’t be eating anything for Thanksgiving at all.”

Trammell also offered a little tease about a major paradigm shift that’s about to hit Bon Temps. “There are gonna be some really cool shapeshifter-y things happening,” he says. “There might be a shapeshifter community that we meet. And I can’t say what it is, but there’s something that happened that sort of changes everything, something at the beginning changes everything in town. So it’s going to be cool, because you have the same characters and the same deal, but there’s going to be something that makes it all fresh.”

Trammell also said he just did his first script read with an actor who’ll be playing a major new character. “There’s gonna be a new character – a few new characters that I’m working with, yeah,” he says.

And fans won’t have to wait long for “True Blood’s” first trademark “holy crap!” moment in the fourth season: “It happens immediately,” says Trammell. “Pretty much right away!”

FYI fiona shaw is doing a play in brooklyn from 1/7-2/6 im just curious how this will affect filming. (I’m all obsessed with production schedules and the like) I am sure there are a million ways around this BUT AE is not going to happen unless Hallow in on the scene (right?) Also Denis O’hare is committed to be in Elling until March I believe again just wondering. I’m such a dork I hope we get word on what the official first day of shooting on S4 is because I will be doing a happy dance.

      The fact that the building is a former convent may mean nothing, regardless of all the symbolism re: Sacred Heart. It’s just an empty building at present.

EXCLUSIVE: Janina Gavankar (The Gates, The L Word) has joined True Blood’s upcoming fourth season as a regular. Additionally, Alexandra Brecekenridge (Dirt, Life Unexpected) and Vedette Kim (As the World Turns) have come on board the HBO smash as recurring. Meanwhile, co-star Jessica Tuck has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular.

Gavankar will play Luna, a super-sexy public school teacher and shapeshifter who is first seen attending an informal gathering with others like her. Brecekenridge, a noted voiceover artist who can regularly be heard on Fox’s Family Guy, will play Daisy, a member of a wiccan group founded by Marnie (new series regular Fiona Shaw). Finally, Main Title-repped Lim will portray Naomi, a fierce fighter who participates in underground cage matches for money.

OK, I’ve said some of this before but I wanted to put it here for posterity.

I bet Holly and Arlene called the spirit that will possess Marnie. Remember the ritual included a ‘blood sacrifice’ which we all thought odd. This is usually associated with black arts. AND the circle Holly cast was couterclockwise, which we think is also associated with dark magic. And it didn’t work, the baby is ‘still on board’. I have theorized that the spirit of MA flew to Arlene’s baby when she died as the nearest convenient ‘incubator’, but of course such a spirit would want an adult to possess so that she can carry out her agenda, whatever that is. Don’t panic! I don’t think MA will be after the same thing as she was before. She’s out for vengeance now, vengeance upon the one who deceived and killed her former incarnation. *wink wink*

The actor who is playing Luna (Janina Gavanka) says we are going to be in for a “wild ride” the first 2 episodes. It makes me wonder whether we should take that phrase literally or metaphorically. Remember last years leak about something really twisted? Do we get a mad car chase or angst?

There is a car chase in LDID that involves Luna and Sookie trying to escape FoTS. Yes, Dallas was S2, but they do like to change things around a bit on TB.

I have another prediction. Most people have predicted that Hoyt will have to be turned and up until now I’ve resisted the notion, but now I’m thinking this is the best thing that could happen on this show. With Hoyt’s turning “We are what we were when we were turned” can be brought home in a very visceral way. Hoyt can PROVE that a vampire doesn’t have to be like Bill. I’d even wager that like Bubba, (and Alcide), he will only feed on squirrels and jack rabbits and that he will be able to enter a human home without an invite because he is so utterly trustworthy, just as he is now as a human. Go Hoyt! but please don’t make him mentally challenged TB. This will make the ‘lesson’ too murky.

The bakery is telling because pies are always about Sookie and Sam–sharing key lime pie at Crawdad’s Diner before Gran was killed, going to Big Pattie’s Pie House, and talking in front of the table of pies in s3. S1 if Sookie had let Sam in and shared her pecan pie with him after Gran’s funeral, she wouldn’t have gone running into the arms of Death that night.

Sam’s got major issues – since way before he ever imbibed Bill’s liquid nastiness. That just brought them to the surface…..I wonder how far Sam has yet to fall?

      I’m not discounting that it could be due to Bill’s blood or as a ramification of going off the deep end s3 at all, but if we are going to have a new POV (Eric’s or La La’s hopefully), I think we need to be prepared for characters appearing slighly different and, considering what has happened with Eric’s hair color, a bit of gray on Sam may be a more objective take than his golden highlights s1.

        If 1-3 were mostly narrated by Sookie under the influence of BBB, I think the albedo stage will be narrated Lala under Eric’s influence until Sookie can be rebooted and pick it up, also under Eric’s influence.

        I figure Sookie saving Bill by killing Lorena foreshadowed her killing SA, another mean old woman out to get her man. Plus, more killing binds her even more to him, implicating her in his crimes and dragging her further down to his level, and we know this is Bill’s MO so far.
        
        I don’t think the scenes CAN be in order. The difference in the passages of time between them seems to be on the order of hours. I posted the timeline here somewhere I think, but Bill had to wait for SA to come from either NOLA or Jackson–I don’t think she flew because she was still too well turned out– while about 15 minutes passed between the time Eric and Bill left Sookie’s porch and her disappearance from the cemetery.

IDK if it was Sookie’s narration but Eric has often missed clues and connections because he can’t seem to fathom the depths of Bill’s deceit and treachery. Like for instance he just ASSUMED right off the bat that Bill was in love with Sookie–he couldn’t imagine at first that Bill had ulterior motives. While Bill projects his own evil ways onto others Eric projects his goodness.

        Watching the finale s3 last night, I noticed that in that final scene of C/C, there was a smirk on her face just before Sookie touched her hand to vanish. It happened so quickly I hope I wasn’t imagining it.

        IMO, and of course my opinions are often wrong lol, but I think Bill was IN Sookie’s unconscious mind and I don’t think Claudette is there. I think Sookie’s minder, her protector, who is also symbolic of her inner voice, is Claudine and Claudine only and Bill saw her because he accessed the deepest recesses of Sookie’s mind. (Him walking on water was his way of further implanting in her mind the idea that he is her savior.)
        
        But, it occurs to me that Claudette could be symbolic of Sookie’s baser nature and Claudine the better angels of her nature so who the f*ck knows LOL. Now I’ve gotten myself all confused.
        
        Regardless, either Bill compelled Claudine to bring Sookie to him under false pretenses or he’s in cahoots with Sookie’s darker nature, ie Claudette.

It’s set up to identify a ‘real’ Christian who would know that all that glitters is not gold, and that a true marriage means sacrificing yourself for your partner, which is represented by the humble lead casket.
  
  Hmmm…Could TB be using hair color as a substitute for the caskets? If Sookie is a ‘true’ Christian, she would see Eric’s golden hair as superficial and vain, which may explain why after Dallas, he no longer had blond hair. Since Sookie never saw Sam as a potential suitor, those golden highlights in his could suggest that she only saw him superfically, too.
  
  Eric’s darker hair and Sam’s gray could mean that she’s seeing them as potential suitors. I wonder if Bill will start going lighter. *snort*

I just posted this over at SVB’s, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of this 1982 flashback idea…. Isn’t that the year of Sookie’s birth? I can’t remember from the books, but I just checked TB wiki and they say it’s May 24, 1982.

We all know Bill’s had his eye on her for a veeeeery long time. It’s entirely within the realm of possibility that Bill was in the “Old Country” looking for clues to her fae-ness, then goes to Eric’s club in London looking for a snack? Easy trip from Ireland to London, after all.

        The Chief, accepting the son’s story without question, placed the “Fairy Flag” in a locked case and henceforth carried it with him wherever he went.
        
        Since then, successive Chiefs of Clan MacLeod have acted as custodians of the Flag, and it is still kept at Dunvegan where it is now on display to the public, pending its final outing.

Great insight about B&E. I thought there was a great deal of projection going on with Bill but failed to see that Eric does it, too.

TBH, Eric doesn’t have the highest IQ, which I think is rather amusing. He is slow to make connections (Jason much?), but he is very strategic. He has to be to be successful at chess and politics.

  I don’t know Renee. I’ve often been frustrated at what seems to be Eric’s low IQ but I’ve come to see this isn’t necessarily the case. Remember, he was still narrating when he had the video conference with The Authority. He was authoratative and clearly he had the lowdown on RE, his motivations, and his MO. He may be basically good old Jason but he’s had a thousand years to educate himself and I think he has. We just haven’t seen it much because Sookie identifies him a little TOO closely with Jason. I think what we believe is his ‘slowness’ is his inability or unwillingness to attribute base motives to others without clear evidence. he’s just not suspicious enough.

        The thing about chess is the complete time and patience it takes to master.I’ve played and watched “seaching for Bobby Fisher” and let me tell you Eric completely destroyed Talbot. When chess to played to a very high degree you have your complete game planned in your head and know your next 10 moves.
        
        I only mention this because I don’t think we should be discounting Eric’s intelluct. There is no way he could survive 1,000 years and be the offspring of Godric and not be smart.
        
        I think his dismissal of Bill has more to do with the fact that Bill is such a lowly, vile, perverted, evil mofo. When he said teasingly “You are in love with a human?” He was moreso trying to take the temperature of Bill and get a read on him. Like a person who is allergic to cats suddenly owning a kitten. Like WTF is this?
        
        Actually know that I think about it…it should have been a red flag to the audience. It was also telling us that there is more to Bill than we are being shown.

        ok…now to be honest it’s kinda hard to tell which pieces stand for what…queen, bishop, knight, etc but in the first it seems as if Eric has a lot of pieces taken/captured…which would mean in order for Eric to have won, Talbot would have to have feel into a trap…that would explain why he was so upset because he thought that he was going to win. In the third picture it looks as if Eric has alot of his power pieces left would mean could mean that Eric used only a few pieces perhaps a pawn and knight to mate him…that too would explain Talbot being pissed.
        
        Now if he used his “Queen” to checkmate Talbot…which I think is the piece he had his had on in the second picture then it would go along with the story…the queen is the most valuable piece that can do the most damage and you would hate to have to play without. But keep in mind using her also puts her in danger of being captured.

        I was thinking Sookie was his queen that he was using to trap…willing to risk her but at the same time having the confidence to know how to use her properly.
        
        Or he could have sacrifced her, advanced a pawn to bring her back later.
        
        I will have to go back and re-watch now that I know what the pieces mean.

        he didn’t but you don’t have to castle…it’s a great move and works well for defense but you don’t have to do it. When I started playing I never did it…when I got better I did but not at first.
        
        Without being able to watch the whole game it looks as if the victory was a shock because Talbot had the advantage…more men on the board.

According to IMDB, Brandon Morale (6’4″) has been cast to play Officer X. He will appear in episodes 4.01 and 4.02, so will Matt. Photo above.

Morale could be involved with the altercation at FT between fangbanger Matt and the 2 protesters or be the security officer from the 4.02 casting call, but that specified 1 scene and 1 line and interaction with Daisy.

      In Welsh mythology, Blodeuwedd is the name of a woman made from the flowers of broom, meadowsweet and the oak by Math fab Mathonwy and Gwydion to be the wife of Lleu Llaw Gyffes. Her story is part of the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi, the tale of Math son of Mathonwy (from the Prof).

    My best guess is that she’s headed for NO. I’m still agnostic about how much time is going to pass s4, but I would love for Tara to return to BT with a boyfriend she turned into a cat (or Elvira’s pink punk dog) and Olivia. She was Amelia’s teacher, and she was the one who knew how to do ectoplasmic reconstructions or whatever they were called. In the book, Tara brought Claudine to BT and introduced her to Sookie, so that would be kind of a mashup of BookTara and Amelia.

        I sincerely hope Tara goes to NOLA. This keeps her relatively close to home while placing her in an entirely different environment.
        
        I think it makes complete, logical sense that Tara would seek a way to protect herself from supernatural creatures by looking up witches/voodoo priestesses and she would know NOLA is the perfect place to do so. Perhaps she’s more aware of her ancestry than Lala.

I think hoping for a ‘refreshed’ and totally herself Sookie after she visits Faeland is wishful thinking. But hey, who am I to dash dreams?

        Here is the hard evidence some were wanting. However, a couple of them were saying she had been in Faeland all afternoon so this might not make much difference to them. I can’t figure out how they can’t see the trip had a definitive beginning, which was during Lala’s prayer and WELL after she had been in the ER.

Maybe y’all are way ahead of me on this, but I just realized it was not Bill’s presecnse in the room that brought on the darkness, but his presence in Sookie’s mind.         But now that you mention it, once Bill had Claudine’s name it was then time to take a dedicated trip into Sookie’s subconscious specifically to seek her out, make contact with her and use her name to force her to do what he wanted. It makes more sense he had her name earlier.

        Right. He didn’t just wake up in FL. It was a case of lucid dream or…his account may have been fabricated for Sookie’s benefit. Her second visit is significant because Claudine wasn’t there. Whatever Bill did to her was either done during his trip, if it was real or while he was in her head at FT and somehow got to Claudine before she did.

        But, as you pointed out elsewhere the sign in Eric’s office was lit late in s2? after being dark in his presence for earlier visits. Doesn’t this indicate his visit to FL could indeed have been light-filled? It could parallel his daywalking or indicate he’s now a FULL daywalker, ie it is symbolic that he’s coopting Sookie’s light for himself.
        
        I’m leaning toward the idea that he can only get to FL when Sookie goes there
        
        I’m not sure if she was there when he was. She was sitting like a zombie in her living room looking at her scrapbook when it began and presumably it continued while she visited Hadley. Either he somehow put her in a psychic ‘holding pattern’ so that he could dig down into her psyche without her knowing–which is totally different from Eric knowingly and openly sharing dreams with her—or he somehow implanted a ‘screen memory’ of Hadley and Hunter on top of his visit to FL so that she doesn’t remember it.
