At Bill’s place let’s start in the entry. Everything was pretty much the same there throughout the first two seasons, with a few notable exceptions. The timing of the changes that are the subject of this post seem to coincide with the transformation that occurred over at Sookie’s at the beginning of season 3.

To the right of the front door, Bill had a portrait of a man hanging in an oval frame.

The frame and portrait were different in season 3, though.

On the other side of the door is a Federal style bullseye mirror.

Season 1 there was an oval portrait of a Victorian matron over the stairs.

The last time the old woman was seen was when Sookie went up the stairs with Dean the night Bill was taken to the tribunal. That means the old woman was visible during the same time Sookie’s kitchen chairs were dancing.

The next time the figure in the oval frame is discernible is when Sookie, Jason, and Bill get home from Dallas. At that point, the frame holds this beautiful lady. (Screencap is from a later episode.)

After tantalizing glimpses of a new square frame all season, the third image over the stairs was finally revealed in  the last episode.

Originally there was a low chest of drawers in the entry and portrait of a Colonial gentleman above it. This is while Sookie’s kitchen chairs have mysteriously moved to the dining room.

When Sookie’s kitchen chairs were back where they were supposed to be, the first chest was replaced with a taller, less ornate one.

Season 3 the chest was gone completely and a secretary with a hutch on top of it took its place. It’s partially visible opposite the closet under the stairs. Hoyt’s flowers are on the writing surface and a row of books are discernable.

When Bill left for his date with Sookie, the wall behind him was bare.

But when Sookie came to tell Jessica that Bill had been kidnapped, this picture was on it. (Screencap is from a later episode.)

In Bill’s dream there was a low chest like the one from season 1 and a picture of a woman on the back wall.

Moving into the living room,  the original clock on the mantle had black face and a woman in a boat.

Season 3 it had a white face and no boat. The candle holders are also different, as are the andirons and fireplace bumper, as you can see by comparing this photo of Sophie Anne with the one below it.

Notably the mirror never seems to change.

A Victorian sideboard was on the right wall behind the sofa in the first two seasons.

This was what the upper part looks like.

Season 3 it was transformed.

The new sideboard doesn’t have an upper piece at all. The pictures on the wall have changed, too.

There’s also a sideboard on the left side of the room.

Here’s its season 3 replacement. The picture above it is the only one that’s original.

It appears that the piano, the sofas, and the coffee table also remained the same, but  the picture over the piano didn’t.

The stern old woman has transformed into a beautiful woman.

By now it should be clear that most of Sookie and Bill’s things changed at the same time, the beginning of season 3.

In the two screencaps below you can see exactly when the change took place. The new portrait appeared to the right of the door after Sookie got there . Sookie’s world changed without her or anyone else realizing it. She has been bewitched.

If Bill is bound in silver and in the process of being drained while this is going on, how did he do it?

The answer is, he didn’t.

While Sookie wass telling Jessica about  Bill’s kidnapping, Hank was in the closet dying. Before Sookie arrived he was bleeding on the stairs. Jessica has just done what all offspring do, mess up their parents’ best laid plans.

Bill had a witch cast a spell in the house. That is why he invited Sophie Anne there. He doesn’t realize that Jessica activated the spell. Bill plans for Sophie Anne’s death to be the sacrifice that Holly explained was necessary to make magic. No doubt the blood of a centuries old vampire is stronger than that of a redneck trucker. If  Hank’s blood could turn Sookie into the callous single-minded bitch she was in season 3, with Sophie Anne’s blood, Bill could completely enslave her while making Sookie believe she was the luckiest darn waitress in Louisiana.

Hank may have been an unintended sacrifice, but how did the spell find the right target to bewitch? Midnight Charm figured that out last year.

Sookie’s engagement ring was charmed.

*There are more than just the  two versions of the bullseye mirror mentioned above. While Hank was bleeding on the stairs, another version turned up and the blue wall became a buff color, similar to what happened on the other side of the door a few minutes later when the new picture appeared behind Sookie.
