The other day I followed a link that brought a visitor to TAP and wound up on the prediction page that was made on the red wiki last year to record for posterity our predictions for s3.

I was surprised  to see how well the predictions based on the parallel storylines held up since the twists and turns in the narrative in s3 were so unpredictable.

Below are the predictions I made for s3 before April of last year. That was when Lou Pines was still Club Dead and I thought Sookie and Eric would meet at the bar before going to the palace.

*Because Tara saw Jason with Randi Sue before meeting Amy at Fangtasia, Sookiie will see Eric with a fangbanger before they meet up at Club Dead.

That one was on the money. Before meeting up in Jackson, Sookie saw Eric with Yvetta.

*Because Coby and Lisa run away when Arlene is taken over by MA, Jessica runs away when Bill is kidnapped, Hoyt follows

Jessica didn’t run away, but like Coby and Lisa, she did find refuge at Merlotte’s when she was abandoned by the parent who was supposed to be caring for her. Sam stepped in and helped out in both cases. The parallel held, even if my take on it didn’t.

*Because Coby and Lisa are asleep during the maenad climax, Jessica is asleep during Bill’s daytime rescue

Jessica was alseep during Bill’s rescue and during the s3 climax when Eric and Russell were burning.

*Because Coby and Lisa are runaways who end up at Fangtasia, Jessica ends up at Club Dead

This prediction was a little off, but it was the basis for a parallel that did occur.  The parent-less Jessica was taken to Fangtasia by Sookie to get information from Eric. Sam did the same with Lisa and Coby for the same reason.

*Because Jason hooked up with Amy at Fangtasia, Sookie will meet up with Eric at Club Dead.

Substitute the palace for Club Dead and this one was a no brainer.

*Because Jason was agitated and about to find himself in a dangerous situation at Fangtasia before Amy dragged him out, Eric will drag or carry Sookie out of Club Dead when she gets into a difficult situation.

This prediction was off, but there was a parallel to this scene between Amy and Jason at Fangtasia. Amy was undercover in enemy territory and Jason, going through withdrawl, barged in with the subtlety of an elephant and nearly got himself killed. Amy had to manhandle him to get him to shut up.  This is similar to what happened between Sookie and Eric when they met up at the palace.

*Because Coby and Lisa uncover Rene’s secret when they find his box in the garage, Jessica uncovers Bill’s secrets.

Jessica did find the trophies Bill took from his victims.

*Because Coby and Lisa forgive Arlene who pledges to be a better mom, Bill begs forgiveness of Jessica. (Does it take her near death to get to that point?)

Well we certainly  didn’t see that s3, but there was a parallel between Arlene’s admission of not being a good mom and Bill’s tearful, ‘I can’t protect you.”

*Because Sarah was mistaken for a vampire and nearly staked in a role playing activity, Sookie will be staked at Club Dead.

Didn’t happen. Maybe s4.

*Because Sarah and Jason have a heart to heart talk about their pasts, Sookie and Eric will too.

Both couples did have a heart to heart on the porch.  Eric and Sarah both revealed surprising things about themselves. She had been a vampire rights activist and he posed as an SS officer.

*Because Lafayette persuaded Jason to dance on his website while in disguise (In exchange for V which he wanted for Dawn’s pleasure), Eric, disguised as Leif, will have a homosexual encounter at the palace to get a car for Sookie’s escape.

TB dropped the details from the book, but there is still a parallel between Jason dancing on a gay website for Dawn and Eric getting down and dirty with Talbot for Sookie.

*Because Amy and Jason had shared hallucinations through Eddie’s blood, Sookie and Eric are and will continue to have shared dreams.

Score!

*Because Jason’s fairy glow was activated by the V during the shared hallucinations, we will see some fairy glow between Sookie and Eric in their dreams.

Sookie has using her glow hand but not for Eric. I still think this one has a pretty good chance of happening sooner or later.

*Because Amy killed Eddie even though Jason tried to stop her, Eric will nearly kill Bill when he pulls him out of the trunk after raping and nearly draining Sookie. She will stop him.

This didn’t go down like in the book, but there is a parallel. It was just impossible to predict it before we knew of the existence of Talbot.

Amy killed Eddie because Jason was about to set him free.
Eric killed Talbot because Sookie was about to be captured.

*Because Jason takes Amy back even after she killed Eddy, Sookie takes back Bill even after he nearly kills her.

And after he tries to get rid of Eric.

*Because of the practical joke of the vampire massacre at FOTS, Eric will have a flashback, probably in a shared dream,of slaughtering an entire village with Godric.

The parallel was Eric’s flashback to his family being massacred.

*Because Jason told Amy he feels responsible for his parents death, Eric will feel responsible for Godric’s.

The parallel was right on, but Eric felt guilty for the death of his human family.

*Because Sookie started a self-destructive relationship with a vampire to ease the loss of Gran two seasons ago, Tara will start a self-destructive relationship with Franklin Mott to ease the loss of Eggs.

This one is so obvious I’m surprised I bothered predicting it.

*Because Sookie will eventually find out about the edict, Tara will eventually discover Jason killed Eggs.

Tara and Sookie both learned the truth at the end of s3, from doppels Jason and Eric. If it were up to Bill and his doppel, Andy, they still wouldn’t know.
